About Us

It all started with a Home Economics class in 1989 and a desire to wear clothes that only existed in my head.

From there is was my mother's (never used) sewing machine and many trips to the Salvation Army for old sheets, jeans, whatever would spark my imagination and could be cut apart and made into that thing I had in my imagination. This was waaay before the word UPCYCLED was even a thing.

From there it was 4 years of Fashion class in High School, then Design school, Fashion Institiute of Technology, New York City!

20 years on 7th Avenue in Manhattan's Garment District, learning the ins and outs of garment manufacturing, textile design, supply chains, pricing and sourcing.

All the while hanging out in the parking lot at Grateful Dead and Phish shows, selling groovy threads of all sorts, meeting great people and vibing off of making people feel fabulous!

Along the way I started a zero waste refill shop, Woodlawn Refills, to follow my other calling: reducing plastic household trash and the impact it has on our Mother Earth. Here is where I learned the craft of handmade skin care (I just love making stuff) because why have all natural, non toxic skin care if it is packaged in PLASTIC THAT NEVER GOES AWAY?

So, my shop will have upcycled garments--mostly groovy rock tee/kantha quilt ponchos, but hatever else I feel like tinkering with.

I'll also keep offering my lovingly made skincare and whatever else I cook up. So keep stopping by to see what's up.

**CUSTOM PONCHO ORDERS ARE FOREVER WELCOME! DO YOU HAVE A TEE THAT NEEDS A MAKEOVER? SEND HER MY WAY!**

Lots of love- erin
